Touring Handle Bar Pack II Cycle On- Closeouts
Product ID:
FTOR2CYO-CO
Description:
These are overstocked custom made bags, originally made for a Cycle Team that fell short a few members. These packs are mounted securely to the handlebars by Jandd's Quick Release Bracket, allowing the bags to be attached and detached instantly. When secured to the mounting brackets the Touring Pacs are extremely stable as the result of HDPE stiffener plates and a diagonal rod stock stiffener. The diagonal rod pivots allow these bags to be folded flat, a great convenience for storage or when packing for air travel. The Handle Pacs also have d-rings for optional shoulder straps or for storing in a closet. Chock full of useful features, the main compartment opens away from the rider to allow easy access on the go and sports an interior elastic strap on one side for securing an extra water bottle in an upright position. Side compression straps can be pulled tight to ensure stable load distribution, and the roomy mesh side pockets have been redesigned with an elastic strip at top to keep their contents from bouncing out on bumpy terrain. To locate your position in any weather, the Touring Pacs each come equipped with a marine-grade vinyl zippered map compartment on top, and a strip of 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material runs across the front of each bag. While the Touring I has a single flat pocket across the front, the Touring II has an additional front pocket with a separate flat front pocket, all with storm-flapped zippers. Whether complementing a set of touring panniers or used alone, either Touring Handle Bar Pac is an excellent way to carry gear with instant accessibility.

FIELD NOTES:
The attachment system was inspired by the capo (the component on a guitar that changes the key). Handle bar bags can greatly affect the handling characteristics of a bike; we recommend that no more than 10lbs of equipment ever be carried in any handle bar pack. When traveling away from your bike in "questionable" areas, it is advisable to put your handle bar pack into shoulder bag mode: remove the bracket from the stem, and carry it with you inside the pack. Routinely check tightness of fasteners, especially while touring or commuting daily.
