Barak Travel Pack

The Barak Travel Pack is the perfect alternative for travelers who require a mid-size pack for their travels but who occasionally need to convert to daypack mode for short jaunts. The large main compartment with double-bottom has lockable zipper heads, an internal compression system, and two sets of external compression straps that will accept Jandds Backpack Pocket. The rear pocket has two flat, zippered compartments and zips off entirely, utilizing our retractable comfort zipper, to become a daypack. The Barak has lash points in convenient spots for bulky items (such as tripods) that are better carried on the outside of the pack. In luggage mode, the Barak can be carried by its padded shoulder sling or by the comfortable leather handle. Featuring a modified version of the Applied Geometry suspension system, the Barak in backpack mode has the tandem aluminum stays, shoulder system, and adjustment wedge found in our other Applied Geometry bags. The Baraks belting arrangement, which mirrors that of the Kera Lite Traveler with a 1/2" cross-linked foam back pad and winged hip belt system, creates an optimal balance between support and mobility. The Barak is an exceptionally versatile pack-we can safely say that no other pack in its size or price range can come close to matching it.

FIELD NOTES: Use zip ties or plastic locks (anything that can be easily cut) to secure zippers while traveling. That way, in the unfortunate event that a thief wants into your bag, he can get in via the zippers and leave you with half a chance of at least retrieving your bag intact. Also, always keep any valuables you may have in the removable daypack to carry with you at all times.
